Think back to your high school graduation. Now imagine the event as if there is no one there to meet your friends. No one is there to take your picture.  No one is there to celebrate this momentous event with you. This is the sad reality of many foster youth. As stated above, we genuinely believe there are times that have to be shared.

It’s Your Day is designed to ensure that foster youth do not spend special milestones in their lives alone. Its Your Day will focus on engaging willing participants to celebrate four specific major milestone events: birthdays, high school graduations, college graduations, and their weddings. During the initial pilot, we will be working with the faith community on expanding their current celebrations for high school graduates to include foster youth, with the intent that the faith community will embrace these important individuals as “one of their own.” You or your organization can become involved in these celebrations by giving your time, talent or treasure as congratulations to the youth at this important time of their life.
