| Many youth have the support and love of
a family to rely on every day. However, not all youth do, especially
youth who are in or aging out of foster care. These youth, who are
considered fully independent at the age of 18, often are not prepared
to enter the world alone, with little to no physical or emotional
assistance. We know there are steps that can be taken to improve the
lives of those who are or are near aging out of foster care, and it is
with that heart The C4 Group is leading Caring 4 Foster Youth and
actively advocating on these youth's behalf amongst the four solution
providers.
Caring 4 Foster Youth is a national
initiative that is promoting four approaches to positively impact youth
who have or are near aging out of foster care. Two of the approaches,
It’s Your Day Milestone Recognition and A Home for the Holidays, seek
to build relational bonds between caring individuals and foster youth
that will emotionally support the youth for years to come. The other
two approaches, My Chance Internship Experience and My Turn Independent
Living, seek to give foster youth practical life and career skills that
assist in developing them into successful and engaged citizens.
If you are interested in implementing one
of these best-practice models in your community through a church, civic
group, or organization, please contact us or click on one of the links below to learn more about the programs.
